Bro I been watching OP-XY vids and I’m like naw I’ll just use my OG OP-1 and Z together which is more powerful with work arounds, so I fired up my OP-Z but I could never get it to sound like this lol

Only thing different that I hat mpc2000 you have to buy the stuff to put in to the 2000 that sucks

Old video, but just for fun I’ll give my thoughts. A,C,D all sound wider and have more depth. I like C the most, A and B tie for 2nd. Mix B sounds pinched, has that digital film over it and doesn’t sound as big and open. But my pick is Mix C overall 👍🏻

2000 sounds a lot better to me, but you lose; speed, convenience, and functionality. I think most people would choose the workflow & tech of the Live over the sound of the older machine.

there's someone about the old mpcs thst glues the mix together its a certain feel i can put my finger on the new mpcs are great but can take alot to get tgem sounding the way u want samplers like the sp1200. mpc 60 asr10 sounded amazing straight out the machine with ni effects or dynamics they all had that sound where everything sounded glued together with a nice low end warm crunchy yet clean i love the modern mpcs but they need to make better more accurate vintage effects i think the bass notes on the modern mpcs are a bit muddy

This is so great. I'm building something akin to this right now, which is what led me to the Zynthian mostly as a sound module. My Zynthian isn't using the full v5 case, but just a Pi with a touchscreen. For sequencing I'm going with the tracker route, using a Polyend Tracker, but I might make it so I can swap that out with the Zynthian sequencer controlled by a launchpad-X. I'm starting smaller, so mine will start as a "Beat Briefcase.", using an old aluminum briefcase I have sitting around. For additional sounds, I'm adding my Blofeld and Pulse 2. Might work the Circuit into it too. We'll see.

Uhmmm so from the description in your introduction you recorded these samples on computer then loaded them into the Mpc’s? With this method you will only be hearing the Dacs and not hearing both Dacs and Adcs. In order for this to be effective you have to record each sound in each mpc via 1/4” inputs. Right now all your hearing is your computers adc

Well I looked at the comments after I listened. I'm actually shocked that it was mix D and not A. At the same time, I noticed that the panning seemed to be different between the 2. So maybe that was the difference. Both good mixes but I actually like mix A better, regardless. Cheers!

WHat's good? I know I'm late to the party on this but Mix A has got to be the analog mix. The dimension and clarity surpasses the other 3 from where I'm sitting.

Which outputs do you use to track out your mix properly from your SSL six into your daw, i’ve been tracking out from my headphone jack and it don’t feel like it’s the right way to do it

The live is definitely beefier - but the crispy magic of the 2K is what gives it that bap - of the boom/bap style. You can hear it in the high hats. The lack of low end on the 2K makes the sample pop, and the snares sit, while the highats cut through. the Live is clear, and fuller, but sounds less like the OG boom/bap. My thoughts. I have used both. I use a 2K.

Question: Is there a difference between using an MPC to play/record your samples/beats and just using a DAW like ProTools or Logic directly and slicing it all up with just a computer, all inside your DAW?

mpc live dont have eb16 and if there is no eb16 the mpc will not sound the same or close also testing this without make no sense
